From Johannesburg and Cape Town to London — a creative journey

 

Ryan Sullivan grew up in Johannesburg with an instinct for building, sketching and experimenting. That hands-on curiosity first led him to music production and studio design, where he spent nearly seven years as the head sound engineer for Red Bull’s premier recording facility in Cape Town.

In that role Ryan was deeply involved in acoustics, soundproofing, studio layout, climate control for minimal noise, material choices for optimum performance, and the visual design of the space. Working alongside artists, engineers and marketers, he learned the discipline of fine detail, the power of space and the interplay of function with aesthetics.

That rich background in sound, space and precision is a foundational part of the Swyft Services approach. When Ryan relocated to London just before the pandemic and returned to woodworking, he carried that mindset with him. What began as a collaboration with a seasoned craftsman soon evolved into Swyft Services – a carpentry and joinery business built on modern systems, timeless techniques and genuine pride in every result.
